The Anti-Occupational Movement Addresses the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The members of anti-occupational movement demand the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to react on current situation in Davit Gareji. The movement plan to hold an organizational meeting later today where the members will prepare a joint announcement to send to the delimitation committee.
As the members of the movement report, the situation is quite tense in the location of Davit Gareji – the road leading to the church is blocked to this time and the number of Azerbaijani border guards has grown.
“The Azerbaijani border guards have built their second military base at the entrance of desert monastery – and the quantity of these soldiers is ever-growing. We will work on the addressing text to the delimitation committee. We are addressing our government in general and demand a public meeting with members of society,” said Davit Katsarava, one of the leading members of “Force in Unity” anti-occupational movement and the former President of Georgian National Rafting Federation.
