Police Arrest 4 for Fake Greek Documents

The employees of the Investigation Division of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have detained four persons on charges of falsification of Greek passports, driving licenses and residence certificates.

The crime is punishable by 3 to 6 years imprisonment.

“The investigation established that the defendants: Sh. R. (born in 1970), L.TS. (born in 1980), P. G. (born in 1970), and A.E. (born in 1959), produced false passports, driving licenses and residence certificates and sold them for profit”, reads the statement released by the police.

"Based on the judge's ruling, searches of the defendants' private and residential apartments were carried out and law enforcement agencies also searched the office of a travel company owned by one of the detainees. On the basis of the obtained evidence, the police arrested all four persons in Tbilisi. The detainees have pleaded guilty. The investigation into the production, purchase, storage, sale or use of fake IDs or other official documents is being conducted under Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Georgia."
