Series of Attacks Hits US
A series of mass attacks hit the United States with gunshots fired in public places for the third time in the last 24 hours.
According to American media, at least 7 people were shot in Chicago Park; 1 was killed, 3 others were wounded in a separate shooting.
The shooting happened around 1:20 a.m. Authorities said someone shot their weapon from inside a black Chevrolet Camaro on the street.
Those injured ranged in age from 19 to 25.
Three women, ages 19, 22 and 25, were transported to hospital, where their conditions were stabilized, the news outlet reported. One man, 20, was in stable condition, while another, 21, was in critical condition.
The shooter has not been arrested yet.
Earlier, on August 4, 10 people were killed in an Ohio shooting.
A gunman early Sunday killed some 10 people and injured 16 in the Oregon District of Dayton, Ohio, before being shot by police.
Reportedly, the shooter opened fire in a bar located in Dayton, Ohio, at around 1:55 a.m. Ohio time using a semi-automatic weapon.
On August 4, a gunman killed 20 people and injured 26 others after he opened fire at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas.
"The scene was a horrific one," said El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen, who added that many of the wounded had life-threatening injuries.
The suspected gunman has not been publicly named. The suspected gunman could face the death penalty. Texas state lawmaker Jeff Leach said in a tweeted statement that the suspect graduated from Plano Senior High School in 2017.
