Man Arrested for Rape Attempts Found Guilty

 Tbilisi City Court found the man (with name initials K. Kh) accused of rape attempt against two women guilty.

Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia reported that the incident took place on January 2, 2019 in Tbilisi around 8:30 PM. The guilty party first attacked L.M., tried to molest her by holding her throat tight and threatening her life. However, his attempts failed as the victim fought back and passersby civilians appeared in the streets.  Right after, K. Kh. Attacked N.Sh. with the same intention.

The policemen captured K.Kh. a few moments after the incidents in the city of Tbilisi. The Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Gldani-Nadzaladevi charged the guilty according to Criminal Law Article #19.137, part 1 (rape attempt, 2 episodes).

Tbilisi City Court found the defendant fully guilty and sentenced him 6 years in jail.
