Prosecutor: TV Pirveli Owner Couldn't Answer Most of Our Questions
Vakhtang Tsereteli, the owner of “TV Pirveli” TV station, has been questioned at the Tbilisi City Court.
As the Prosecutor stated after the interrogation, the owner of TV Pirveli could not answer most of the questions.
“He mostly answered “I don’t remember” to our questions. Additionally, he said that his connection with these companies was limited to the fact that it was their family business”, the Prosecutor of JSC TBC Bank case, Archil Tkeshelashvili, stated.
As Tkeshelashvili noted, the prosecutor's office had legitimate questions with Tsereteli, as he is the representative of the companies to which TBC Bank gave the loans.
"We had legitimate questions with Vakhtang Tsereteli, as he was the shareholder of the companies Samgori M and Samgori Trade. We had questions about the transactions into which the investigation has been established”, Archil Tkeshelashvili said.
As for Vakhtang Tsereteli's statement that the prosecutor's office wants to launch criminal proceedings against his father, businessman Avtandil Tsereteli, the prosecutor explains that making such predictions is wrong.
“I think that it is legally incorrect to make predictions about what will happen and how it will happen. It is simply impossible to make such forecasts”, Tkeshelashvili said.
Tsereteli has been questioned within the investigation that is underway into the case of JSC TBC Bank founders Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze.
