Police Arrest One for Robbery of BOG
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has arrested one person for a robbery of the Bank of Georgia.
As stated today at the special briefing, 1 person – V.G. (born in 1994) has been arrested for bank robbery.
The branch office of Bank of Georgia located on Chitaia Street, Tbilisi, was robbed on August 8.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia launched the investigation under Article 179 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving robbery.
“The investigation established that the defendant robbed the Express Bank branch of Bank of Georgia located on Chitaia Street in Tbilisi on August 8 this year, robbed it of money (about GEL 10,000) and escaped”, the representative of MIA stated at today’s briefing.
The mentioned offense is punishable by 5-7 years of imprisonment.
