PM Meets with Georgian Citizens Released by Occupation Forces
On the night of August 21, Maumuka Bakhtadze, Prime Minister of Georgia, along with Archil Talakvadze, Chairman of the Georgian Parliament and Ketevan Tsikhelashvili. the State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality in Georgia, traveled to the village of Akhalubani to meet with the 8 Georgian citizens, detained by the occupation forces near the ‘border’ of the occupied region of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) on August 17 and 18. The detainees were released yesterday.
The Head of the Georgian Government congratulated youngsters on their peaceful return to their families and focused on the significance of the support, offered by the international institutions.
“It was of crucial importance that the entire international community stood by our side,” stated Bakhtadze, adding, “And it is significant that all our institutions were engaged in the process from the very first minutes.”
