Zonal Hourly Parking to be Launched at Orbeliani Square from October

From October 1, zonal hourly parking will be launched at Orbeliani Square, in the center of Tbilisi, Mayor Kakha Kaladze stated at government session today. As stated by him, the same tariffs and requirements will be used at Orbeliani Square as at Kote Abkhazi Street, where zonal parking was launched since August 1 a pilot project.

The parking fee is 1 GEL (Lari) per hour.

“The next destination is Orbeliani Square, which was fully rehabilitated a while ago. Many cultural monuments are located there. Complete rehabilitation of 20 buildings has been carried out as part of our project, while 13 of them are very important cultural heritage sites.

As part of this project, the first underground car parking in accordance with European standards for 150 cars was built by the City Hall. We want to implement the same approach and requirements at Orbeliani Square as we did at Kote Abkhazi Street. Zonal hourly parking will be activated there from October 1. People who live there should register and they will have the opportunity to use zonal parking service for free,” Kaladze said.

Kaladze instructed the relevant services to start informing the population. According to him, the special booth will also be arranged on the spot these days, where the population will be able to get information about parking.
