Ryanair Enters Georgian Air Market
Despite the various challenges Georgian tourism has seen this year, still we have good news in that Ryanair, one of the largest and most popular Irish budget airlines, offering flights to 38 countries and successfully serving millions of customers since 1985, is expanding its route network by entering the Georgian air market.
Today, August 21, Giorgi Chogovadze, CEO of United Airports of Georgia and David O’Brien, Chief Commercial Officer of Ryanair Company, signed the Agreement of Cooperation at the Government Administration. The official ceremony was attended by Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
Chogovadze announced the launch of the Agreement through his official Facebook page.
“I have just signed the Agreement of Cooperation, which is the successful completion of intensive negotiations we have been holding with one of the largest low-cost airlines Ryanair for the past few months. From November, Ryanair will offer flights from Kutaisi and Tbilisi International Airports!” reads the post of Chogovadze.
Minister Turnava also commented on the news, noting that the agreement envisages carrying out flights to 12 new European destinations in total.
Georgia has already been added on the list of countries on the official webpage of Ryanair. At the first stage, the airline will carry out flights from Tbilisi to Milan and from Kutaisi to Marseille and Bologna. The flights to the said three destinations will be launched from November and the price of tickets is to start from approximately 20 EUR, whereas flghts to the rest 9 destinations will be offered from 2020.
