Levan Izoria to Become Head of NSC

The former Minister of Defense, Levan Izoria, will become the Head of the National Security Council. Giorgi Gakharia, who was nominated for the PM’s position today, made the relevant statement while talking about the ministerial candidates.   

It is noteworthy that in addition to the Prime Minister, the Cabinet of Ministers is undergoing changes in the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Defense. Vakhtang Gomelauri, the Head of the State Security Service of Georgia, will be appointed the Minister of Internal Affairs, while Irakli Gharibashvili, who served as the Internal Affairs Minister in 2012-2013 and as the Prime Minister in 2013-2015, will become the new Minister of Defense. 

The statement was made at the Ruling Party Georgian Dream office this morning.
