De Facto Gov’t of Tskhinvali Closes ‘Border’ with Georgia

Ekaterina Biazrova, Head of the Press Service of the “State Security Committee” of the occupied region of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia), made an announcement about the closure of the ‘border’ of the region with the rest of Georgia on September 4-6.

Biazrova noted that the decision was made due to the celebration of events and activities dedicated to the Day of Knowledge. The ‘border’ is set to be closed at 20:00 on September 4 and will be reopened at 6:00 on September 6.

In addition, the ‘government’ of Tskhinvali plans to carry out joint raids with the Russian border guards at the ‘border’ in September, which envisages tightening control of individuals and vehicles in the border zone. Locals are strongly recommended to carry their ID cards.
