High Council of Justice Selects List of Judicial Candidates
The High Council of Justice has selected the final list of Supreme Court judicial candidates, which will be transferred to the Georgian Parliament for further discussion and approval. The list consists of 20 people.
The following candidates were selected through the secret ballot: Tamar Alania - 11 votes; Merab Gabinashvili - 11 votes; Shota Getsadze - 11 votes; Miranda Eremadze - 10 votes; Mamuka Vasadze - 10 votes; Maia Vachadze - 11 votes; Tamar Zambakhidze - 11 votes; Shalva Tadumadze - 10 votes; Zaza Tavadze - 10 votes; Vladimir Kakabadze - 10 votes; Levan Mikaberidze - 10 votes; Giorgi Mikautadze - 11 votes; Paata Silagadze - 10 votes; Nugzar Skhirtladze - 11 votes; Lali Papiashvili - 11 votes; Nino Kadagidze - 11 votes; Lasha Kochiashvili - 10 votes; Ketevan Tsintsadze - 10 votes; Alexandre Tsuladze - 10 votes; Gocha Jeiranashvili - 10 votes.
Two voting procedures were held in the High Council of Justice. After the Council selected 20 out of 50 candidates through the ballot, the results were published on the website of the Council. The Council then held another vote, whereby Council members voted on the selected 20 candidates individually.
The process of interviewing the Supreme Court judicial candidates started on July 17. The High Council of Justice selected 50 candidates from 137 applicants in total.
