Minister Garibashvili to Visit Georgian Peacekeepers in Afghanistan
Irakli Garibashvili, Georgian Defense Minister, is to leave for Afghanistan to visit Georgian peacekeepers and see their activities on site. The Minister announced his decision while holding a VTC conversation with the Georgian military forces at the Command Center of the Ministry of Defense earlier today.
Garibashvili expressed strong support to the Georgian servicemen and stated he will not spare efforts to improve the social conditions of the military personnel and ensure better conditions for them to serve their homeland.
The Defense Minister accentuated the crucial role of the Georgian peacekeepers in terms maintaining international security.
The units of the Georgian Defense Forces are currently participating in NATO and EU-led missions in Afghanistan and two countries of the African continent.
