New Academic Year Starts in Georgia
2019-2020 academic year has started throughout Georgia today.
The academic year has begun in more than 2,000 public schools in the country, while the process was delayed at 19 schools due to renovation works, which will open to pupils at the end of the month.
The study process has started in kindergartens as well.
"This year Georgia has up to 55,000 first graders. 48,254 of them have been registered in public and 6,067 in private schools,” the Georgian Education Ministry reports.
Iakob Gogebashvili’s Deda Ena schoolbooks were handed over to all first-graders.
For the 2019-2020 school year, 27 new schools were built throughout the country, 141 schools were rehabilitated, and 884 schools have implemented small infrastructural projects.
