IMF Mission Evaluates Georgia’s Economic Indicators
Giorgi Gakharia, Prime Minister of Georgia, held a meeting with Mercedes Vera-Martin, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief earlier today, seeing her positively evaluating the trend of economic indicators observed in Georgia and underlining the improvement of the country’s current account deficit.
At the meeting, the parties accentuated Georgia’s economic position, its macroeconomic indicators, as well as structural reforms.
The Georgian PM stated that the aim of the policy of the government of the country is strongly focused on ensuring the fiscal sustainability and economic growth, and he expressed readiness to enhance cooperation with the IMF.
The next visit of the IMF Mission to Georgia is scheduled to take place in October 2019.
