Girl, 19, Dies Before Rhinoplasty in Rustavi

A 19-year-old girl has died at Rustavi Central Hospital. Reportedly, the youth was to undergo rhinoplasty (restructural surgery on her nose), but she died of a heart attack before the operation began.

The family members of the deceased blame the doctors for the incident and say her heart attack was caused by an overdose of anasthesia. Her grandmother says the girl had undergone all the tests prior to the surgery and was completely healthy.

The representatives of the Rustavi Central Hospital have yet to comment.

An investigation has been launched under Article 116 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving loss of life by negligence.
