Finance Minister Meets with Heads of Leading US Investment Funds

Ivane Matchavariani, Minister of Finance of Georgia has held a meeting with the Heads of the leading US investment funds, visiting Georgia with the aim to learn about the country’s investment potential and business environ.

Matchavariani introduced macroeconomic options, Georgia’s leading positions in the international rankings, as well as the country’s prospective in the transit and logistics directions to the guests.

The discussion also covered the reforms and initiatives launched by the government for the last few years for amelioration of the business environ in Georgia. The guests noted that a number of interesting meetings with the representatives of the government, business sector and promising startups took place within the scope of the visit. In addition, the members of the delegation expressed hope that their visit to Georgia will bring fruitful outcomes and be reciprocally profitable in terms of sharing investments, as well as knowledge and experience.

The meeting was attended by Lasha Khutsishvili and Nikoloz Gagua, Deputy Finance Ministers and Vakhtang Lashkaradze, Head of the Revenue Service.

The delegation of the leading US investment funds, was headed by Isaac “Yitz” Applbaum, Co-Founder and Partner of MizMaa Ventures.
