Matchavariani: 700 Mln GEL to Be Allocated for High-Speed Highways
“Approximately 700 million GEL is to be allocated for high-speed highways, meaning the launch of 175 km of roads in accordance with international standards,” stated Ivane Matchavariani, Minister of Finance of Georgia, while speaking about the project of the 2020 budget.
The Minister noted that infrastructural projects represent an important part of the country’s economic vision and spoke about the significance of the municipal initiatives, focusing on financial resources envisaged in the 2020 budget to improve the living conditions of displaced persons.
“Municipal transport remains a priority and we will have new buses next year. Displaced persons are also among our major priorities. Their living conditions will certainly be improved, including purchasing apartments in different cities throughout the country: Tbilisi, Batumi, Zugdidi and Kutaisi. 112 million GEL has been allocated for this project,” said Matchavariani, adding “All other local municipal projects developing so dynamically will continue with the same high tempo.”
The Minister also spoke about initiatives in support of SMEs.
