Member of Victorious Georgia Party Arrested
Guram Chalagashvili, a member of the opposition party “Victorious Georgia,” has been arrested - Levan Khabeishvili, a member of the United National Movement, reported via social media.
"Guram Chalagashvili has been arrested. The crazy oligarch (Bidzina Ivanishvili) intends to detain everyone for their different opinions!” he wrote on Facebook.
At this stage, the reason behind his detention is unclear.
Founder and leader of the political party “Victorious Georgia”, Irakli Okruashvili, who held different posts during the government of United National Movement (UNM), was arrested on July 25, 2019, on charges of participating in group violence on the June 20-21 rally in front of Parliament.
“On the night of June 20, Okruashvili called on the participants of the anti-occupation demonstration to forcefully enter the Parliament building,” stated the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
