Public Movement Lelo Brings Cottage for Gugutiantkari Family in Gori

The members of the Public Movement Lelo, founded by Georgian businessman Mamuka Khazaradze, today arrived in Gori, a city in eastern Georgia, bringing a wooden cottage to hand over to the family of Givi Razmadze, a resident of the village of Gugutiantkari, whose house has fallen beyond the occupation line as Russian troops set up artificial barriers and barbed wire fences there as a form of so-called border in August.

The Lelo Movement members are demanding City Hall to allocate land to erect the cottage on.

The wooden cottage is currently placed in front of the Gori City Hall building.

The representatives of Gori City Hall say that no one has officially applied to them regarding the Razmadze family, adding that after it was announced that Lelo would gift a wooden cottage to them, City Hall contacted the family on own initiative:

"The members of the family say that they are ready to receive a wooden cottage as a gift, which they will use at their own discretion, however, they refuse to engage in any political speculation."

The son of Givi Razmadze notes that they no longer want to live in Gugutiantkari, as it is not safe, and demand land for the cottage in the city.

Teona Dolenjashvili, a representative of Lelo, notes that their goal is to fortify the dividing line in Gugutiantkari. Accordingly, if the Razmdzes' family does not want to live in the village, they will hand over the cottage to other people who will erect the building and live there.

Mamuka Khazaradze promised to build a new house for Razmadze in August, before officially launching the Lelo Movement.

"Today, the families from Gugutiantkari lost their homes, a village which has already been added to the 20% of Georgia's occupied territories. These families must live on their land again. It is our duty to support them. Therefore, Givi Razmadze's family will have a new house in Gugutiantkari within a month. Additionally, I would like to call on Georgian business to help and support the people living there. We will win this war, Georgia will be reunited,” he stated.
