And Then We Danced Nominated for EUFA
The 2019 Swedish-Georgian drama film 'And Then We Danced,' directed by young filmmaker Levan Akin has been shortlisted for the European University Film Award (EUFA) 2019.
Launched by the Filmfest Hamburg and the European Film Academy (EFA) in 2016, the EUFA primarily focuses on representatives of the young generation, seeing the students of various educational establishments as the jury.
This year, the committee, consisting of Carlo Cresto-Dina (producer / Italy); Joanna Szymanska (producer / Poland) and Dagmar Brunow (Film scholar / Sweden), selected five works out of 46 feature films and 12 documentaries for the award: And Then We Danced; God Exists, Her Name is Petrunija; Piranhas; Portrait of a Lady on Fire; and System Crasher.
The said films are to be viewed and discussed at 25 universities in 25 different countries, followed by the selection of one favorite among them. The selection process will continue with a three-day deliberation, bringing together one student representative per each educational establishment. The award will be presented to the winning director on December 5 as part of the 32nd European Film Awards, taking place in Berlin, Germany.
‘And Then We Danced’ has already been introduced at a number of significant cinematography festivals and was submitted for best International Feature category in the 92nd Academy Awards by Sweden.
