Minister of Economy: PM Says We Must Work More Closely with Businesses
“We will focus on making our business environment more attractive and overcoming the current barriers and challenges the businesses sector has to face; simplifying the regulations and resolving all the problems to meet our expectations related to 5% economic growth and fulfill our planned budgetary obligations,” Natia Turnava, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, stated after today’s government meeting.
She spoke of the Prime Minister's instructions to the state agencies, noting that her office has frequent communication with the business sector, but that now the work in this direction will be further enhanced.
“The task is to strengthen our collaboration with businesses. Accordingly, we will start meetings with representatives of various sectors and business associations in the near future. Our Ministry has frequent communication with business, however, now we will further strengthen our work in this direction,” she said.
The Minister expressed readiness to inform the media and the public about the results and conclusions made after meetings with the representatives of various spheres.
"A new World Bank rating has been released, according to which Georgia has moved forward in terms of improving the business environment - we are 12th out of 183 countries. This is an increased degree in the fight against corruption, this is transparency, and these are simple regulations. However, there are still some resources which we can use for further improvement, for which these meetings will be very useful,” she noted.
