Zaal Udumashvili and Giorgi Laperashvili Summoned to Prosecutor's Office

One of the leaders of the political party United National Movement Zaal Udumashvili (former anchor of Rustavi 2 TV Broadcaster) and the Head of the News Department of TV Company Formula Giorgi Laperashvili have been summoned to Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia regarding the Rustavi 2 case. They will be questioned today, at 18:00 and 19:00.

“Within the framework of the investigation launched into abuse of power against the legitimate interests of Rustavi 2 and misappropriation of a large amount of funds, which caused significant damage, Zaal Udumashvili and Giorgi Laperashvili are summoned to the Prosecutor’s Office,” the investigation agency reports.

Within the frames of investigation, charges were filed against Former Director-general of Rustavi 2 TV Nika Gvaramia, former Financial Director of the Channel Kakha Damenia and director of the contractor company Intermedia Zurab Iashvili. 

In addition, Zurab Gumbaridze, Founder of company Intermedia and Director-general of the newly established TV Company Formula, which started broadcasting on October 1, was questioned by the Prosecutor General’s Office yesterday in connection with the Rustavi 2 case.
