Service Held at Georgian Church in Kotoklo Village after 120 Years of Closure

A special service has been held at the Georgian Holy Trinity Church located in the village of Kotoklo, Kakhi district. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reports that the church has remained non-functional for 120 years and through the multiple appeals of the local, Orthodox, population the government of Azerbaijan has allowed its reopening.

The Holy Trinity Church was the part of the historic Hereti region of Georgia at the time, but was handed to Azerbaijan in 1921. The special service was attended by Zurab Pataridze, Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
