Train Hits 12-year-old Boy in Tbilisi

A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a train in Tbilisi, adjacent to the “Gotsiridze” metro station.

The accident occurred this afternoon.

Eyewitnesses noted that the minor was wearing earphones while crossing the rails and could not hear the warning signal made by the train driver. 

The minor has been taken to the Iashvili hospital. He is currently in a coma. 

An investigation has been launched under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving violation of safety regulations or procedures for the operating railway, water, and air or cableway transport traffic.
