39 Bodies Found in Essex

39 bodies have been found in a truck in Essex, southeast England.

A 25-year-old Northern Irish man has been arrested after the bodies were found inside a tractor-trailer on an industrial estate.

Police said that they received a call on Wednesday from the ambulance services. The victims were pronounced dead at the scene, which included 38 adults and one teenager.

The police suppose the truck was from Bulgaria and arrived in the country on Saturday through Holyhead in North Wales.

“We have arrested the lorry driver in connection with the incident who remains in police custody as our inquiries continue,” Chief Superintendent Andrew Mariner said in the statement. “This is a tragic incident where a large number of people have lost their lives. Our inquiries are ongoing to establish what has happened.” He added.
