Another Explosion Occurs in Tbilisi

Unconfirmed reports say that two people were injured as a result of an explosion in a residential building on Priest Tevdore Street (Tevdore Mgvdeli Street), Tbilisi. The exact number of injured is not known at this stage.

The incident occurred on the 5th floor of residential building #38 this evening. 

The Emergency Situation Management Service (EMS) says that according to preliminary reports, the explosion was caused by a gas leak.

The Agency reports that all relevant departments and services are mobilized on the spot and a rescue operation is underway.

This is already the second incident caused by a gas leak in recent days. On Saturday, four people were injured as a result of an explosion in a residential building on Guramishvili Avenue, Tbilisi.
