Car Crash Kills One in Poti

One person was killed in a car crash occurred on the road between Poti, a port city in Georgia and Khobi,  a town in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region.

The deceased was a truck driver.

The Emergency Management Service reports that the driver did not lose consciousness after the crash, however, it took a long time to get him out of the car. He was initially taken to Poti hospital.

The emergency brigade tried to transfer him to the Kutaisi hospital, as his condition was worsening, though he died on the way.

The investigation is underway under article 276 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving violation of traffic safety.
