Nenskra Hydropower Plant Project Launches Youth Internship Program
Nenskra Hydro JSC, the Nenskra Hydropower Plant (HPP) project company, is to offer paid internship to young people living in Chuberi and Nakra of the Mestia Municipality.
The Youth Internship and Job Training Program will be launched in November in the scope of the Community Investment Program within the company’s corporate social responsibility policy.
After the selection process, young people will be offered internship in various departments of the project company, namely social, environmental, health and safety, human resources, public relations and technical teams.
“Creating more opportunities for the local community on the labor market is one of key components of our company's corporate social responsibility,” said Irina Petriashvili, Public Relations Officer at JSC Nenskra Hydro. “We have been working in this direction since 2017, in particular, offering English and computer classes to the residents of Chuberi and Nakra, as well as implementing a vocational training program for heavy machinery operators. We are looking forward to launching even more vocational training programs in the future. The Youth Internship Program, on the one hand will enable young people to gain experience while working on an international project, which that will foster their career development in the future, and on the other hand, it will ensure their involvement in the company activities, which will enhance the dialogue between the Nenskra HPP project and the local community.”
JSC Nenskra Hydro is a project-based company established in 2015 as a result of cooperation between the state-owned Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-water) and JSC Partnership Fund. The company is developing the Nenskra Hydropower Plant Project in the Nenskra and Nakra river valleys in Mestia Municipality of the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. The 280 MW Nenskra Hydropower Plant will generate approximately 1’200.00 GWh of electricity annually, which will be fully consumed by the Georgian market.
