Former Metropolitan of Chkondidi: I will not Obey Injustice and Impurity

"I intend to continue the fight for the improvement of the church, for starting the process of resolving existing problems," former Metropolitan of Chkondidi Petre Tsaava said at a news conference in Martvili on Monday.

When asked whether he was going to obey the order of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II and serve at the Shio Mgvime Monastery after leaving the Chkondidi  Eparchy, former Metropolitan said that he did not plan to obey "injustice and impurity."

“I have made a promise to obey Jesus Christ until I die. I will not obey injustice and impurity,” he said.

Reverend Petre, the Former Metropolitan of Chkondidi, was fired from the position of Bishop by the Synod on October 30, because he submitted incriminating evidence against Patriarch Ilia II.

Reverend Grigol has been appointed the new Metropolitan of the Chkondidi  Eparchy, replacing Petre Tsaava in the role.
