Representatives of Occupation Forces Detain two Persons
Representatives of the occupation forces have detained two men on the outskirts of the village of Kodistskaro, Kaspi Municipality.
Reportedly, the detainees have been transferred to the territory controlled by the de facto regime.
The locals say that Zurab Tukhiashvili and Ramaz Zadishvili were likely detained in the vicinity of the villages located along the occupation line, Karafila and Kodistskaro.
This is already the second case of the detaining Georgian citizens in recent days.
A few days ago, 28-year-old Zakaria Butkhuzi was illegally detained by occupation forces near Georgia’s Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region “for illegally crossing the border.”
He was detained near the village of Kveshi in Gori Municipality, close to the occupation line.
Butkhuzi was released on November 8.
The illegal detention of Georgian citizens by Russian occupation forces near the occupation line is a common issue. Detainees are usually released after their family pays a fine.
Russia recognized the Georgian regions of Tskhinvali and Abkhazia as independent states in the wake of the Russia-Georgia 2008 war.
