Four Detained Outside Ajara Government Building

Law enforcers detained four persons who were hampering employees of the Ajara government from entering the building.

The detainees were taken to Batumi police station.

Protesters picketed the entrance to the building in the morning.

The demonstrators are protesting Parliament's rejection of the bill on constitutional amendments relating to the electoral system.

The bill, drafted by 93 lawmakers, envisages holding the parliamentary elections in 2020 through a proportional system with a zero barrier and the admission of electoral alliances.
