Former President of Estonia Demands the Freedom of Doctor Gaprindashvili

The Estonian Embassy in Tbilisi has recently released a video in which the former President of the Country Toomas Hendrik Ilves and his wife express the full support of Dr. Vazha Gaprindashvili, demanding his immediate freedom. The video features ex-president Ilves speaking in English, and his wife delivering the message in their mother tongue.

In the video, the Former President says the following: “I call upon the De Facto authorities in South Ossetia to immediately release Dr. Gaprindashvili – a medical doctor performing and fulfilling his oath as a doctor to provide medical assistance to people who today live in an area without adequate medical care. Free Gaprindashvili.

Toomas Hendrik Ilves is an Estonian politician who served as the fourth President of Estonia from 2006 until 2016.

The famous Georgian Doctor Gaprindashvili was kidnapped by occupational forces on November 9, he has not yet been released despite demands from Georgian and international officials and society.
