Police Detain Three during Protest at Parliament

Law enforcers detained three people at the Parliament entrance on Chitadze Street during today's protest outside the building.

Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the European Georgia party, said that the police were "hunting" protest participants, carrying out a special operation to "let the slaves into parliament."

“Nothing will stop us. We are not afraid of being arrested," she said.

Representatives of the Georgian opposition parties, their supporters, and activists of public movements, plan to picket the parliament building so as lawmakers are unable to enter to hold the plenary sitting scheduled for today.
