The government of Georgia has announced a new wave of privatization of state property. The Ministry of Economy plans to generate GEL 150 million by selling 100 buildings.
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava said at today's presentation that 2500 new jobs will be created as a result of the project.
"We are offering facilities for privatization on which all agreements have already been signed, the objects have been pre-assessed and our recommendations on what kind of business can be developed locally have also been attached. This project, with its result, is unprecedented. Along with other benefits, it is the prospect of creating 2500 new jobs," she said.
Businesses can access all the information about the buildings on the website of the National Agency of State Property and will be able to be involved in the process of privatization.
To simplify the selling process, all information about the buildings will be published on the website, with recommendations for purposing the buildings. These recommendations will be in accordance with the general plans of the towns and municipalities where the buildings are located.
