Majority Lawmaker Renounces MP Mandate
Otar Chrdileli, the member of the parliamentary majority, has renounced his MP mandate, publishing a post on social media, saying his decision is linked to the support of the Supreme Court judges by Parliament.
“We have been trying for one year to protect the image of the court. We tried to make a decision without fail and reach a consensus. We have all witnessed its result,” he wrote.
The plenary session of the Parliament of Georgia yesterday approved 14 judges out of 20 candidates at the Supreme Court.
The lawmakers approved the following Supreme Court judges: Merab Gabinashvili - 86 votes, Miranda Eremadze - 83 votes, Mamuka Vasadze - 88 votes, Maia Vachadze - 90 votes, Tamar Zambakhidze - 89 votes, Shalva Tadumadze - 89 votes, Vladimir Kakabadze - 86 votes, Levan Mikaberidze - 89 votes, Giorgi Mikautadze - 85 votes, Nugzar Skhirtladze - 90 votes, Lali Papiashvili - 88 votes, Nino Kadagidze - 85 votes, Ketevan Tsintsadze - 85 votes, Alexandre Tsuladze - 87 votes.
