Condition of Georgia’s First President’s Son Remains Serious after Being Wounded

"Although the operation was successful and we removed the hematoma, the condition still remains serious," neurosurgeon Archil Jvarsheishvili told journalists while commenting on the health condition of the injured son of Georgia's first president Zviad Gamsakhurdia, Tsotne Gamsakhurdia, after the 7-hour surgery, adding that it is not excluded that he will still need surgery on his head and chest.

Tsotne Gamsakhurdia was transferred to the Khechinashvili clinic after being injured in Tbilisi on Thursday evening.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation under Article 19-108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, involving premeditated murder.
