Weather Likely to Deteriorate in Georgia this Weekend

On January 25-27, temperatures in western and eastern Georgia are expected to drop to -20 degrees Celsius. Heavy snow is anticipated in Georgia’s mountainous regions; storms at sea; some sections of roads might become icy and winds are expected around the country, according to information released by the National Environment Agency.

Heavy rains are expected; frost will intensify during the nights. The air temperature is expected to drop to -4, -6 in the lowlands of West Georgia, to -8 in the Eastern Georgia, -15 in the mountains, -20 in the highlands. 

Heavy meteorological conditions are likely to continue (mainly in western Georgia and the western part of eastern Georgia) until the afternoon of January 27, claims the Agency.
