Renewed Funicular Railway will Function on Turtle Lake

Tbilisi City Hall and the Tbilisi Transport Company have gathered to collaborate in joint projects such as the rehabilitation of Turtle Lake (Georgian “Kus tba Lake”). The main stage of the project has already been completed.

The budget was announced early yesterday and invites companies to start rehabilitation work on the project if they win the bid. The total budget for the project is 1,100,000 GEL. The winning company should complete the work within 210 days.

According to the Tbilisi hall and Tbilisi Transport Company, a new funicular railway will be fully equipped with special equipment for people with disabilities, so they can enjoy the railway as well.

The renewed railway will help to lessen the pressure on the motorway in the summer.
