Weather Likely to Deteriorate in Georgia
The weather in Georgia is expected to deteriorate from today. According to the National Environment Agency, snow is expected in the high mountains with strong fog and wind in some places, along with occasional strong westward winds.
Thunderstorms are expected in coastal regions, with potential 4-5 degree storms. On February 8-10, the air temperature is expected to drop significantly.
"Heavy rainfall is expected to cause avalanches in the mountainous areas and may trigger landslides," the National Environment Agency said.
According to the agency, traffic will be restricted on certain sections of roads due to heavy snowfall, visibility impairment, snowstorms, traffic jams and avalanches.
According to the National Environment Agency, the Gudauri-Kobi section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Larsi (Russian Federation border) international highway is in danger of flooding due to difficult meteorological conditions, blocking the way to all types of traffic.
