Occupational Government Closes "Border" near Akhalgori
On Friday morning, the occupational government closed the so-called border near Akhalgori.
The “security committee” of de-facto Tskhinvali said that from now on the peopl who receive their pensions on the Georgian-state-controlled territory will be allowed to cross the “border” once every two months.
“Reportedly, the entrance to Akhalgori will be opened again in late March,” the governor of Akhalgoti municipality told reporters.
It’s been reported by the Akhalgori municipality governor that the checkpoint will be open in late March.
The so-called border was closed on September 5, 2019. The de facto President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov states that the road will not be fully opened until the Georgian Government does away with the police guard post near the village of Chorchana, in the municipality of Khashuri, which started functioning in August.
On January 24 the de-facto government of Tskhinvali reopened the so-called border for retirees and people who need immediate medical attention.
