Majority Leader: Parliament Speaker Had Successful Visit to Washington
One of the leaders of the parliamentary majority, Irakli Kobakhidze, has responded to the recent meeting between the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Archil Talakvadze and congressman Adam Kinzinger, one of the co-authors of the critical letters recently sent to Georgian authorities, assessing it as "very successful."
"In the end, we saw our friend congressmen's statements following this visit, and this is very clear proof that a very good discussion took place, a dialogue on issues related to our internal political processes. These statements are clear proof that the conversation was very positive, and in the end, it gives us the confidence that cooperation between Georgia and the United States will deepen," Kobakhidze stressed.
Earlier, Congressman Kinzinger assessed the meeting as "productive" and noted that he “appreciates Talakvadze making the effort to visit and discuss the importance of the alliance.”
"Compromises must be made by all parties involved to achieve the democracy and freedom they seek," he concluded.
The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, together with the Parliamentary Delegation, paid a working visit to the United States on February 5-10.
His official visit to Washington started with a meeting with Adam Kinzinger.
During the meeting, the sides touched upon current political and economic issues.
