Czech Tourists Saved in Avalanche Mountain Rescue, Svaneti

4 Czech tourists were saved by Georgian rescuers of the Mountain Resorts Development Company yesterday, after getting trapped in an avalanche in the high mountainous resort of Tetnuldi. The rescue operation lasted just two minutes.

Three of the tourists suffered no injuries; one has been transferred to a hospital in Svaneti’s central town Mestia due to his upper limb injury.

Now the rescuers are searching for a Ukrainian tourist, reported missing by the rescued Czechs. The Ukrainian tourist was also skiing in the zone where four others got trapped in an avalanche yesterday, says the head of the rescue team of Tetnuldi resort, Levan Kurdiani.
