Two Arrested for Assaulting Cafe-bar Owner, Security Guards in Gudauri
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained two individuals for physically assaulting the owner of cafe-bar 'Drunk Cherry,' as well as security guards, in Georgia's popular ski resort Gudauri.
The statement of the Interior Ministry reads that two persons were arrested: V.Ts. (DoB 1988), on charges of violence against two or more individuals, and Sh. E. (DoB 1993), on charges of group violence.
"The investigation established that on February 23, 2020, a physical confrontation occurred in one of the cafe-bars in Gudauri between V. Ts. and several security guards, including Sh. E., who were the employees of the same facility.
"In addition, V.Ts. physically and verbally assaulted the owner of the cafe-bar. As a result of investigative activities, the next day, law enforcers detained V.Ts. in Mtskheta, while Sh. E. was arrested in Gudauri. Investigative activities are underway against other persons involved in the incident.
"The investigation is in progress under Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages group violence against two or more persons,” the statement reads.
