Occupation Forces Detain Georgian Citizen Near Occupation Line

A middle-aged Georgian man was detained by Russian troops in Gori Municipality, near the village of Adzvi.

The kidnapped person is Eldar Gundishvili, aged 70.

Spokesperson of Gori Municipality, Tariel Vatiashvili, said the man was detained due to “illegal crossing” of the so-called “border.” He also added that the EU Monitoring mission in Georgia (EUMM) has already been informed of the incident.

"The issue of illegal kidnapping of Georgian citizens shall be raised at a meeting concerning Incident Prevention Mechanisms, as well as at Geneva discussions", said Georgian foreign minister, David Zalkaliani.
