Another Case of Coronavirus Confirmed in Georgia

A second case of the new coronavirus has been reported in Georgia, Amiran Gamkrelidze, Director General of the National Centre for Disease Control and Public Health, announced at a special briefing held today. 

Reportedly, the infected patient is a Georgian citizen who recently came back from Italy. 

"The health of the patient is satisfactory and the citizen is being monitored,” Gamkrelidze said.

This is the second confirmed case of coronavirus in Georgia. The first case of coronavirus was reported in the country on February 26. 

The infected patient, a 50-year-old man, had traveled to Iran and reentered Georgia from Azerbaijan on Tuesday. 

Both of the patients are isolated and are being monitored.
