Middle-aged Man Kills His Mother, Sister in Choporti

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has detained a middle-aged man from Choporti, a village in eastern Georgia, on charges of killing his mother and sister with a hunting weapon. 

The Ministry said in the statement that the detainee (DoB 1979) killed his mother and sister on the basis of verbal conflict on February 28.

The defendant was arrested in Dusheti, a town in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of Georgia, as a result of operative-investigative activities.

The investigation is underway under Articles 11 (I) and 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages the intentional murder of two or more family members under aggravating circumstances.

The crime envisages from 16 to 20 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
