CNN: Behind Georgia’s 8,000-Year-Old Winemaking Tradition
In cooperation with the National Tourism Administration, a promotional video was released on one of CNN's online platforms Great Big Story, depicting Georgian winemaking, unique wine production method, young Georgian winemakers, Kakheti region and culture. In the near future, CNN Georgia will produce another video clip on the Great Big Story Platform about the Martvili Canyon and the unique nature of the Samegrelo region.
Great Big Story is a media company, based in New York with offices in London. Launched in October 2015 by CNN, the company creates micro-documentaries and short films, which have been viewed by millions of people on various websites such as Facebook and YouTube.
In the video, winemaker Baia Abuladze tells foreign journalists about Georgia's 8,000-year history of wine production, traditional Georgian vine varieties, traditional Kvevri vessels, and winemaking rules. The successful winemaker also notes that she does not use modern technologies for wine production and speaks about the advantage of saving wine in Kvevri. The aim of the young winemaker is to preserve the unique tradition of winemaking from generation to generation.
Within the framework of the marketing campaign of the National Tourism Administration, promotional videos produced by CNN are shown in Europe and the Middle East countries.
As part of the Campaign, various articles and online banners on Georgia's tourism products and destinations were published on CNN's websites and social networks, and a 30-minute program on Georgian culture was produced.
In addition, CNN aired a 30-second video (summer/winter) and prepared five television reports.
