All Five Georgian Citizens Infected with Coronavirus Traveled to Italy

"This afternoon, we received answers from Lugar Lab and in 5 cases the answers were positive for the coronavirus, with all the cases connected to each other," Amiran Gamkrelidze, Head of the Center for Disease Control, said at a special briefing this evening.

He added that all the patients are family members of the 44-year-old Georgian man whose infection with coronavirus was reported today.

They traveled together to Italy and reentered Georgia on Sunday.

"Their clinical condition is satisfactory. They were transferred to the Infections Hospital this evening and are being examined,” Gamkrelidze said.

Five new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Georgia.

Nine cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the country so far, while 162 people are in quarantine and 45 are being examined at the hospital.
