Coronavirus: Over 100 000 People Infected
Friday’s reports show that the number of people diagnosed with the coronavirus has surpassed 100 000 globally. There have been at least 3 015 deaths in China from the virus and 267 in other countries – most of these fatalities taking place in Iran and Italy.
While India and South Korea have reported a rise in the number of people infected, the new Covid-2019 cases have especially skyrocketed in Iran - in the past 24 hours over 1 200 new infections have been confirmed. That makes the country’s biggest jump since the virus first spread in Iran. The state health ministry also reported 124 deaths in the country on Friday.
Things are not looking up in Europe either, as Italy’s coronavirus cases topped 3 800 and France confirmed 200 new ones.
The death toll in the United States from the coronavirus has risen to 12. The states have also started to call the students with the country’s citizenship, doing an exchange year in Europe, home.
Coronavirus has spread to every continent except Antarctica. Georgia last confirmed the coronavirus cases on Thursday night. The country has 9 patients diagnosed with the disease. They all remain under medical supervision in the Tbilisi Infection Hospital.
